I started golfndad’s journey when I was a small child…5 or 6 years old. My father had a part-time business, sharpening lawn mowers, and he sharpened the big gang mowers for the local Country Club. Those were the days when the mowers were rotary and pulled behind a tractor.

Almost every Saturday my father delivered the sharpened mowers and I went along for the ride and a chance to hunt for golf balls. The greens’ keeper Louie, and my father would spend some time installing the mowers so I always had an hour or two. At some point I became the owner of a hickory shafted iron club and soon discovered the joy of hitting a golf ball down a fairway when no members were present. When I was ten or so, I started caddying at the CC. I was able to play the course on Caddie Day Monday. By the time I was in high school I had caddied foal good amateur golfers at the country club. I also shagged lessons for the pro, Ed (porky) Oliver and also some celebrities, including Rocky Marciano, heavyweight champion of the World. Rocky wasn’t a great golfer at that time, but he could hit the ball a country mile!

This was the beginning of my lifelong love of golf. I hit balls at the range when I retired, I moved to Florida and found the true golfing paradise!
Over the years I have played golf I have continually searched for ways to improve my game, hit the ball straight consistently. In my quest I have come across training aids that I have found to make the quest for a more perfect golf game. I am always amazed that there was some information out there that I didn’t now about! If I had found it earlier, how much better I would have played the game. I might have been a contender!
Over the years I have won club championships, once shot consecutive 61’s and played against players, much better than me. Today living in Florida, I’m more of a student but still shoot a score in the 70,s and grab a skin now and then.

I’m always looking for that tip or devise that will make me a better player! If you need help, let me know.. I’m always willing to share.
